Whoda Thunk? If I would have told you in preseason that there would be two games in week ten that would be very significant in deciding the fate of divisional races, which games would you have picked. Obviously, the Cowboys and Giants would have leapt off the page, but what about the second. Cincinnati/Baltimore: nope. San Francisco/Seattle: hardly. Miami/Buffalo: ok, that one I just threw in to see if you were paying attention. Believe it or not people, it's Cleveland versus Pittsburgh. Yep, the winner of this game takes over first place in the division. Something tells me that Romeo Crennel's job is now safe. Picks appear in bold. Jacksonville at Tennessee (-1.5) Rumors abound that Albert Haynesworth will miss this game with a bad hamstring. I still think the Titans have too much. Denver at Kansas City (-1.5) And here the Broncos thought that they had seen the last of Priest Holmes. Buffalo (-2.5) at Miami I don't think it's a coincidence that Lee Evans has more yards and touchdowns in the last two games as the first six, which is when J.P. Losman returned as the starting quarterback. Cleveland at Pittsburgh (-9.5) The Browns won't be able to stop the Steelers' offense, and I think Dick Lebeau will do enough to fluster Derek Anderson into a couple of turnovers. St. Louis at New Orleans (-10.5) Drew Brees is looking like the 2006 version and Reggie Bush is finally proving that he can be an every down back. Atlanta at Carolina (-3.5) This number surprises me. As a matter of fact, it downright worries me. What is it that Vegas knows that would allow for this low spread? Oh, that's right, the Panthers are starting a rookie QB (Matt Moore). As bad as the Falcons are, it won't matter. Philadelphia at Washington (-2.5) Between Andy Reid's off-field issues and Donovan McNabb's paranoia, it's really ugly in the Land of Cheesesteaks. Minnesota at Green Bay (-5.5) I've liked Adrian Peterson in every matchup since he was a freshman at Oklahoma.......until this one. Cincinnati (+4.5) at Baltimore In a matchup of the two most disappointing teams of the year, I'll take the one with the most explosive of the three elements (offense, defense, and special teams). Chicago (-3) at Oakland Maybe Cedric Benson will finally show some life against the third-worst rushing defense in the league. Dallas (-1) at New York Giants I think the Cowboys' offensive line will do just enough to let Tony Romo get rid of the ball. Detroit (+1.5) at Arizona When's the last time a 3-5 team was favored over a 6-2 team? I don't remember either, which is why I'll take Kitna and Co. Indianapolis (-3) at San Diego I kept thinking that Indianapolis would have a hangover from last week's loss. But, if there's one thing that Tony Dungy has always done well, it's keeping his teams on an emotionally even keel. San Francisco at Seattle (-10) Personally, I think the NFC West should be barred from playoff contention. What an absolutely horrible division. Last Weeks Record: 8-6-0 Overall Record: 70-53-7 |
